On Monday 9th January, BEIS released information relating to the continuation of the Energy Bill Relief Scheme.
This update to the scheme operates in a different manner to the one that is currently in place until the end of March, and is currently projected to run from 1st April 2023 until 31st March 2024. The scheme will continue to provide a reduction to the commodity cost of energy consumed in the valid period, however the level of reduction available has been drastically reduced.
More information can be found here on Gov.UK.
The reduction will apply when the commodity cost of your invoice exceeds a price threshold and is subject to a maximum discount.
“Qualifying Companies” are determined by SIC Code. The intention has been to include all “Energy and Trade Intensive” industries as they have been deemed to be at higher exposure. Click here for the official PDF.
An additional release here, suggests that companies that qualify for the enhanced discount would only see the discount applied to 70% of the consumption.
We have updated our Invoice Bureau and Financial Reporting services, to include validating these charges as standard practise. If you do not currently utilise these services with Optimised, please contact your Account Manager, or use the contact button below for more information.
