The Hilton Hotel is in the heart of Canary Wharf, London where it predominately serves the business traveller. The hotel was built in 2006 and has 282 guest rooms. The hotel benefits from meeting spaces that can accommodate up to 400 people and over 15,000 sqft of flexible space for many types of events. In addition it also has a number of dining facilities, bars, fitness suite, sauna and steam room.

KeolisAmey Docklands, a joint venture between Keolis and Amey, was awarded the franchise to manage the Dockland Light Railway (DLR) in December 2014. The focus of the franchise is to operate and maintain the network (including 45 stations and over 40km of track), implement service improvements to make journeys better for passengers and ensure the DLR remains one of the best performing railways in the UK. Climate change presents an enormous challenge for London’s transport infrastructure which is fundamental to daily life and already faces climate-related challenges, including flooding, heat, and erosion. Given the vital role that KeolisAmey Docklands plays in supporting the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), carrying over 120 million passengers a year, they decided to take action and consulted Optimised to support the development of a new climate and sustainability strategy.

The Radisson Hotel at East Midlands Airport is a 218 bedroom hotel featuring extensive conference facilities, swimming pool and leisure facilities. Designed as a BREEAM Excellent building, the hotel was opened in 2011 and considered the greenest hotel in the UK. The hotel also boasts a 285kW bio-oil CHP (Combined Heat and Power) system that would generate enough electrical power to support the hotel, while converting waste heat as a primary source of heating and cooling for the hotel. This ‘green’ CHP plant operates on waste bio-oil (Ethyl Ester) that qualifies for the maximum number of ROC’s (Renewable Obligation Certificates) under the governments renewables scheme.
