REDUCING EMISSIONS IN AGRICULTURE

Both companies are deeply committed to sustainability but recognised the complexity of calculating their baseline emissions. They sought to gain a comprehensive understanding of their value chain emissions, especially those associated with Forestry, Land, and Agriculture (FLAG). Their objective was to establish science-based targets aligned with a net zero strategy, ensuring their decarbonisation efforts supported the global goal of limiting warming to 1.5°C.

DrivING Net Zero Goals and Emission Reduction Targets

To navigate these environmental challenges, Optimised was engaged to assist Greenvale and Rowe Farming. The collaboration began with a kick off session to form a dedicated net zero team and outline the project’s scope, deliverables, and roles. Optimised then delineated the operational and organisational boundaries, calculated Scope 3 emissions, and presented the methodology, assumptions, and results in a GHG Protocol-aligned inventory. They formulated near-term, net zero, and FLAG targets, preparing all necessary documentation for submission to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
