Every day, the Optimised community invests in our planet and Earth Day is a great opportunity to celebrate our environmental achievements and to raise awareness of critical issues such as climate change, deforestation, and loss of biodiversity.

Through our partnership with Ecologi, we’ve planted over 1,953 trees across the world so far, and to celebrate Earth Day, we’re planting an extra 2000 trees. These trees will be planted across Africa and South America, restoring forests and ecosystems, supporting local communities, and sequestering carbon.

Closer to home, we will celebrate Earth Day as an Optimised team by organising an environmental team event, such as litter picking, local tree planting or fundraising activities.

Through the Pennies from Heaven scheme, extra pennies from our employees’ payslips are donated to a charity of our choice. This year, we are supporting Friends of The Earth in line with our objective to contribute towards SDG 13: Climate Action.

At Optimised, we strive to protect the planet through our energy efficiency, renewables, and net zero services. As stated in the IPCC’s recent Synthesis Report, the window of opportunity to limit global warming to 1.5°C or 2°C above pre-industrial temperatures is rapidly closing. Governments, businesses, and individuals must work collaboratively to achieve steep emission reductions and avoid the worst consequences of climate change.
